Deadline Extended for K-12 Science Mini Grant Program
by Dave Nagel
The application period for DTE Energy's 2009 Energy & Our World Mini Grants for Educators
program has been extended to Nov. 28. The program offers small grants,
typically up to $250, to help individual K-12 educators fund science
programs that they otherwise couldn't afford for their classes.
According to DTE Energy,
"This year the DTE Energy Foundation is especially interested in
funding projects that teach students about power generation, energy
distribution, renewable energy technologies, environmental issues and
energy conservation." The company said awards typically range from $50
to $250, though funding does sometimes go higher. Last year the program
awarded grants to 142 teachers.
The grant program is open now to all K-12 educators within DTE
Energy's service territory. All applications have to be postmarked by
Nov. 28, and grants will be awarded within the first three months of
2009. Further information, including a grant application, can be found here.

Our programs are designed to make good use of your student’s background knowledge and to provide additional background knowledge where it is needed. Student with limited background have a harder time in school. Teaching background knowledge without proper assessment is a weakness in most programs. Our program will help you to meet your goals and objectives. Our new visualization strategies are used in our innovative before and afterschool distance learning programs. They are proven to enhance background knowledge.

High Motivational Individualized Learning Programs
When kids are excited about learning good things happen. Our programs help to get students to seek a deeper understanding of what they are learning. We have lots of experience and we have found a special way to share our knowledge and experience with you. Talk to us about any of our high motivational learning programs. E-Mail: Suprschool@aol.com
Our specialty is high motivational individualized learning. Our curriculum is based on cognitive science, our action research, decades of research about learning, 30 years of experience in the California schools and tried-and-true methodologies.
We recognize that there is more than one way of learning—which not all kids learn in the same way. Given the right mix of tools and approaches, we find ways for our students to stay motivated and to be successful at what they are studying. Motivation is a key factor in our success.
Our curriculum is provided in a way that allows our students to adjust to the pace, schedule, and learning style that works best for them—which could vary day by day and project by project. Your teacher will work with you to make sure you know if your child can move on, or needs to slow things down and do more to cement a concept or skill. We individualize instruction every step of the way.
Learning Tools:
We will match the right learning tool to the task. We use custom teacher and student productivity tools. We have over twenty years experience these types of tools and are currently leaders in Web 2.0 technology. Our close association with Apple Computer and the FileMaker Corporation has made it possible for our team to use the latest hardware and software technology in a very dynamic way. We use high motivational strategies and project based learning to help to keep your students engaged in the learning.
Super School will include you in the designing of an individual learning plan that makes sense to you and your family. You will not feel lost.
